The Nature of Bamboo (Zhúzi)

The Nature of Bamboo

My relationship with bamboo began indirectly, I was on a Soul Retreat to rest and heal. While on the retreat, in Quebec, I was introduced to a group of singers known as Beautiful Chorus.

I began to download everything I could via Spotify and Apple Music and happened upon their song “The Waves We Give” inspired by a Bruce Lee quote:

“Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.”

Bruce Lee

I deeply considered what these lyrics meant because I had gone through so much in the past year and it taught me to be flexible… like bamboo and also like water.

The nature of bamboo is to be flexible and supportive, like us at the Bamboo Shelf.

My purpose is to bring nourishment, sustenance and healing to our readers.  And aid emerging authors with our supportive shared platform (The Shelf).

Be like bamboo!
